The AMI makes a number of good points about management practices to attract and keep qualified personnel. I am a big believer in hiring for attitude and aptitude, and training the applicant to do things your way. Another concept they mention that I like is getting the other employees involved in the interview process. I think it's important that you find the right "fit" when hiring people.
